A magical location for outdoor activities, educational field studies and training courses.
We are situated on the mountain above Crickhowell in the Brecon Beacons. You can walk directly out on to the mountain from the front door. Nearby are cliffs, Ancient woodland, caves and a world Heritage site. Our guests include family reunions, groups of friends, training groups and a wide variety of youth groups.
Brecon Beacons
Wern Watkin commands magnificent views over miles of unspoilt mountainside, from the Sugarloaf to the central Brecon Beacons and down the Usk valley.
Within easy walking distance of Wern Watkin lie the Llangattock cave complex (one of Europes most elaborate cave systems) as well as the climbing cliffs and open moorland. Short drives away are the rest of Brecon Beacons, the scenic Wye and Usk river valleys and a wealth of industrial heritage in the Welsh Valleys centred around the World Heritage site of Blaenavon.
